据国外媒体今日报道，来自IAC旗下网站CitySearch的消息人士表示，Twitter已推出一个新的API(应用程序接口)，允许用户在第三方网站上注册Twitter帐号。
消息人士称，Twitter的新API允许“本地商户将现有Twitter帐号整合到CitySearch的商户页面中，或是从CitySearch的商户页面新建Twitter帐号，随后可以在CitySearch页面上直接发布Twitter消息”。
Twitter推出的这一API与OAuth功能不同。CitySearch公司代表布兰迪·薇拉德(Brandi Willard)表示，Twitter尚未正式宣布推出这一API，而CitySearch是首家引入这一API的网站。她表示：“关于CitySearch和Twitter的整合，我们进行了一段时间的谈判。他们期待更多小企业使用Twitter。”
IAC旗下另一家网站Urbanspoon也已支持Twitter的新API。CitySearch和Urbanspoon的页面都将捕捉涉及某一商户正式名称的Twitter消息，帮助网站访问者查看这些实时消息并进行互动。CitySearch表示，未来还将整合更多的Twitter功能。
